POLESTAR Education's Rotational Sports course teaches Pilates practitioners to incorporate Pilates exercises into the training/rehabilitation sessions of these athletes to develop greater stability, core control, and range of motion while decreasing fatigue, injuries, and biomechanical issues.
You will learn to support clients in their specific sport with competence. For certified practitioners the course offers continuing education credits towards re-certification.

in the RAI in Amsterdam 20-23 of June, he is able to share his expertise with us.

During this workshop Brent will cover the most recent facts and scientific research about back pain and effective Pilates interventions. His own dissertation about back pain and numerous papers and projects all over the world have proven that Pilates can be an effective tool for both prevention and rehabilitation. Learn from the leader and enjoy facts, take his class and find time to ask your questions.

Brent is a special and generous person, and responsible for many positive developments in the Pilates world. We have studied with Brent many times, which has always been very rewarding. His work has been challenging our way of thinking and teaching. We highly recommend this evening to anybody who is teaching body work or who is rehab-related. Back problems are a very common issue, and any movement teacher will come across clients with special needs regarding their back.
We hope that many of you will be able to enjoy this opportunity to meet Brent.

Sissel Benelux will have a booth and cooperate with Polestar Pilates at the WPTC (World Physical Therapist Conference) 20-23 June in the RAI Amsterdam. Franklin Method Workshop: Psoas Conditioning - by Annemieke Jonas
The psoas with the iliacus is the primary flexor of the hip joint. It is one of the largest and thickest muscles of the body and attaches to numerous vertrebral bodies and discs. The psoas holds the key to efficient walking and lumbar stabilization. Psoas imbalances are a major factor in lower back, hip pain and a number of other disfunctions. The diaphragm is our most important breathing muscle. It is intimately related to the Psoas, Quadratus Lumborum and the lumbar fascia. The function of the diaphragm affects circulation, metabolism and the tone of the organs. The Diaphragm coordinates the abdominal muscles, pelvic floor and Psoas muscle in maintaining an integrated core. In this workshop the function of the Psoas and Diaphragm is explained through numerous experiential exercises. The workshop offers efficient and rapid imagery solutions to strengthen, balance and coordinate the internal core. We will leave class with an understanding of muscle-joint-organ interactions that lead to improved posture
and efficient movement.

Franklin Method Workshop: "Fabulous Feet" - by Annemieke Jonas

Our feet carry us throughout our life – yet most of us are unaware of the amazing design that makes this possible. A myriad of bones, joints and muscles interacting in complex fashion allow the foot to propel us forward, adapt to terrain, and serve as a foundation and sensory organ. This workshop will elaborate on the complex function of the foot in an experiential manner, allowing us to improve the agility and well being of our feet in all situations, including walking, running, jumping and dancing. In dance as in life, the strength and agility of the feet are key. Without strong and well aligned feet, good posture cannot be attained, and safe jumping is all but impossible.
This workshop will help develop a deeper insight into the functional anatomy of the foot. Imagery and self-touch exercises, as well as the use of the Thera-band will strengthen the muscles of the foot and ankle improving the efficiency of the bones, tendons, muscles and joints for walking and jumping.

Alan Herdman

Dear colleagues,
Even though we are still discussing the details, I want to already give you the opportunity to keep your agenda's empty for that weekend, since this will be a unique opportunity to be inspired by this very special teacher.
Please read his impressing biography and get inspired!
Kind Regards,
Leila Kester

Alan Herdman studied at the London School of Contemporary Dance and was working as a teacher and dancer when, in the late 60's, he was invited to New York to learn about the Joseph Pilates method. There he worked intensely with Carola Trier and Bob Fitzgerald, two intructors who had been trained by Pilates himself. Alan returned to the UK in 1970 to set up Britain's first ever Pilates Studio. Among his clients were actors, dancers and singers, but soon the word spread as doctors and physiotherapists began recommending Pilates to patients struggling with chronic injuries. Alan now lectures around the world, and has written several successful books, including the Pilates Directory (2004), The Gaia Busy Person's guide to pilates (2003), and pilates: Creating the Body You Want (1999). He runs a training course for Pilates instructors and, as well as running his own studio's, he and his assistants teach in dance schools and designated Pilates studio's internationally. Alan Herdman is a top presenter at the Pilates Method Alliance conference every year.
